Get To Know AlunaGeorge!

If you're looking to buy a new album, check out some new music or need a new sound in your life then I'm telling you that AlunaGeorge are for you.

You heard the White Noise collab with Disclosure and you definitely heard Attracting Flies (if you haven't then, I'm sorry but, where the hell have you been?!) - but you ain't heard nothing until you've listened to their newly released debut album, Body Music.

Chilled beats with catchy electro sounds teamed with magical vocal performances like nothing you've heard before - this is the beauty of Body Music.
Comprising of Aluna Francis and George Reid, AlunaGeorge first met when producer George remixed a track by vocalist Aluna's band 'My Toys Like Me'.
AlunaGeorge's first track 'Your Drums, Your Love' hit the UK chart at Number 50 which led on to track number two, 'Attracting Flies' which hit Number 17.

Body Music is currently sitting at Number 7 in the UK iTunes Album Chart and I'm awaiting payday so I can gab tickets to their tour in October!

My new obsession with Aluna's voice is on another level - and don't get me started about her flawless fashion sense! The way her slick lyrics meander around each carefully constructed beat is quite literally music to your ear drums. Her effortlessly cool delivery of what she's telling you gets to you, and you can't let it go. Check out my other blog, Obsessed With Them (link below), for a full fashion profile tomorrow lunchtime!

BRAND NEW MUSIC! MKS - FLATLINE!

Today is finally the day when we can all rejoice and holler that the perfect melodies from the ex-Sugababes are back together on a brand new track - Flatline.

The song is an emotive balance of pop perfection and easy listening and basically does the job of reminding us why we loved them so much in the first place.

The music reminds me slightly of something Jessie Ware would release, then Siobhan's vocal starts up and you're immediately aware of how catchy this pop tune is going to be. All three ladies' voices complement each other so well and, as you can tell, I'm so happy they are back!

The Sugababes just grew up.

The ULTIMATE Playlist!!

YAY! After a few days of the most miserable May weather ever, tomorrow is finally going to be hot and sunny and delicious! Well it would be because I'm due in the office between 8am and 6pm...TUT!

Who else is going to be bustin' a decent dress tomorrow? I have a Forever 21 beaut in my closet that I haven't been able to wear yet, so I'm definitely going to be posting an 'OOTD' post tomorrow...make sure you pop in to see it and give me some styling advice.

Today was my first day off from work since last Thursday, and I've spent it blazin' some old-school tunes, cleaning my room and prancing about the house like I was 12 years old again! From the deep depths of my CD collection (yes, I was even playing CDs on an actual stereo! Who needs MP3 and technology?!) I re-discovered 5 songs that literally brought me back to life:

1) Example - Watch The Sun Come Up

Did this song really come out over 4 years ago?! What a massive, happy tune! As soon as this came on I was all over the dance moves and cutting shapes all over the place!

2) Booty Luv - Some Kinda Rush

The burst of energy this catchy dance tune gave me was unreal! You know when you were little you'd pick who you wanted to be and perform those parts for your teddies?! Well I chose to be Cherise (on the right) and put on an exclusive show for Princess, my highly unimpressed Bichon Frise...

3) Akon ft. Colby O'Donis & Kardinall Offishall - Beautiful

Do not even try and tell me you didn't enjoy this song when it came out in 2008! Furthermore, stop pretending you weren't obsessed with Colby O'Donis around the same time, too!

4) The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony

Probably one of the greatest songs ever recorded. The strings, his voice, the lyrics: It's all utter perfection.

5) N-Dubz - Strong Again

I don't even care! Put down your judging books and hear me out: I LOVED N-DUBZ!
Their songs were so relatable and catchy and were just pop genius. I even went to their concert. So there... *sticks tongue out*

Although this could be one of the world's most random playlist it was perfect for my day off! My room is spotless and I'm as chilled out as can be...
What are some of your fave songs that always get you going?!

Ashley's March Music Picks!

Hi everybody and welcome to 'Your Desirables'' first ever guest post! 21-year-old beaut Ashley Chisholm is a Contact Centre Advisor who loves a damn-good boogie! Her dream career is to be a Freelance Makeup Artist and today she's giving the low-down on her Top 5 tunes from her current playlist! Take it away Ashley...

Disclosure – White Noise (feat Aluna George)

I didn’t think I could love newcomers Disclosure any more than I did after Latch (feat Sam Smith) and then they came up with this little beauty. Great beat and I absolutely love the tone of Aluna George’s vocals. Such a cool collaboration and I can’t wait to hear what they come up with next!

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – Thrift Shop.
With its cheeky lyrics and infectious tune (that’s not even mentioning the sax in the back ground – loving the sax) Thrift Shop is definitely one of the songs I have on repeat at the moment.

Taylor Swift – I Knew You Were Trouble.

I should be incredibly bored of this song by now, but unfortunately I am not. I absolutely love Taylor Swift – and these lyrics could not be more fitting. A little edgier to her usual teen bopper stuff experimenting with a dubstep vibe, but I think she’s just about pulled it off!

One Direction – One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks).
At my age I should NOT be admitting my love for the boys of 1D. However their music has a tendency to make me feel quite happy about life. I love this little mash up and with the profits of this single going to charity for Comic Relief– what’s not to love?

Bruno Mars – When I Was Your Man.

We all have that song we play when we need to sit and feel a little sorry for ourselves. This is currently that song for me. Hugely depressing and beautiful and just everything you need when you are drowning in a bottle of Gallo by yourself on a Friday Night.
